I wrote this song for Kent too. It’s the nicer version of our love. This is about our experience of working through many years of healing after a car wreck I had in 1999. I feel like this song is a testament to him and his willingness to stick through a lot of brokenness. But I have also come to see this song as a celebration of all the many friends and family that were also our “Superglue” during that crazy time in our lives.
lyrics
I was broken
But you super glued me back together
Bruised and shattered
But you super glued me back together
And you did it one piece at a time
First with my heart then my mind
Loving me deep loving me true
With each little piece superglue
And the doctors had work cut out too
Sewing and patching me up
But they couldn’t repair the deepest of wounds
Cause they didn’t have your superglue
I was broken
But you super glued me back together
Crooked lines they may show
But at least I know I’m yours forever
And occasionally I might crack
Need an updated repair
But you just retrieve the glue that holds me
And you superglue me back together
I was broken
But you super glued me back together
Crooked lines they may show
But at least I know I’m yours forever
